GMCR posted 60 cents of EPS, on $1.16 billion in revenue. Analysts had been expecting 36 cents of EPS and $1.06 billion in revenue. The company said that sales of K-Cup packs jumped by 115% between the fourth quarter of 2011 and the fourth quarter of 2010. Brewer sales rose 76%.“The year-over-year increase in K-Cup pack sales was driven by an 81 percentage point increase in K-Cup® pack sales volume, a 21 percentage point increase in K-Cup® pack net price realization due to price increases implemented during fiscal year 2011 to offset higher green coffee and other input costs, and a 13 percentage point increase in K-Cup pack net sales due to the acquisition of Van Houtte.”Inventory came in at $606.1 million at the end of the quarter , up from $269.1 million the year before.
The company says it sees EPS of 60 to 65 cents in the second quarter, below expectations for 73 cents.
Qualcomm (QCOM) resistance level is $62 and support level is $52.
