Pre-Market Stock to Watch 8/17/12

Pre-market Stock to Watch  - August 17, 2012

Oplink Communications (OPLK): FQ4 EPS of $0.19 beats by $0.07. Revenue of $44.2M (+1% Y/Y) misses by $0.3M. Shares +2.1% AH.

Brocade Communications Systems (BRCD): FQ3 EPS of $0.14 beats by $0.02. Revenue of $555M (+10% Y/Y) beats by $19M. Shares +5.6% AH

21Vianet (VNET): Q2 EPS of $0.01 misses by $0.11. Revenue of $57.4M (+58.6% Y/Y) misses by $0.7M. Shares +1.2% AH.

Gap (GPS): Q2 revenue beats the firm's own pre-announced estimates as well as consensus, but guidance comes in light. For the quarter, net sales outside the U.S. and Canada increased 7% Y/Y. Comparable sales breakdown: Gap +7% Y/Y; Banana Republic North America +7%; Old Navy North America +3%; International -5%. Expects full-year EPS of $1.95-$2.00 and operating margin to increase a percentage point to 11%. Shares +1.1% AH.

Marvell (MRVL) guides on its FQ2 earnings call for FQ3 revenue of $800M-$850M and EPS of $0.22-$0.26, below a consensus of $914.9M and $0.31. MRVL -7.6% AH

Molycorp (MCP) falls another 3% in after hours trading, adding to its earlier 7.5% decline during the regular session following the company's offering announcement this morning. The rare-earth miner is in the process of modernizing and expanding its Mountain Pass facility in California

Cosi (COSI): Q2 misses on all counts on an overall decline in total sales. Net profit improved, but overall sales declined due primarily to locations closed during and subsequent to the 2011 second quarter as well as to a 1.3% decrease in comparable restaurant sales. Shares -5.8% AH

DryShips (DRYS): Q2 misses across the board despite a jump in total revenue. Losses did narrow Y/Y, as revenue improved and vessel-impairment expenses weighed on year-ago results. But spot charter rates continue to hover at historic lows and asset values have dropped precipitously in the last two years, which continues to hurt both top and bottom line performance. Shares -4.8% AH.

Europe market closing price: Europe quietly puts in a solid rally. Stoxx 50 +1%, Germany +0.7%, France +0.9%, Italy +1.9%, Spain +4.2% (EWP +30% since Draghi's "whatever it takes" remarks), U.K. flat. Spain's 10-year bond rate fell 11 bps to 6.53%. The euro +0.5% to $1.2355
