Stocks poised for small gain at open

Stock index futures post slight gains ahead of the first post-holiday session, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 +0.2% and the Dow +0.3%.

Major European markets are closed, and the Nikkei gained 1% overnight, while Shanghai fell 1.6%.

Keep an eye on the 10-year Treasury yield, which rose all the way to 2.99% in thin trade on Tuesday. A strong jobless claims print might be enough to send it well past the 3% level.
