Aeropostale Inc. (ARO) rose 3.5 percent to $12.56 and reached $12.89 earlier, the highest intraday price since Aug. 17. The teen-clothing retailer was raised to “buy” from “hold” at Jefferies & Co. Inc.
BigBand Networks (BBND) surged 74 percent, the most in the Russell 2000 Index, to $2.21. The maker of digital video equipment agreed to be acquired by Arris Group Inc. (ARRS) for $2.24 a share. Arris lost 2.5 percent to $11.25.
Jones Group Inc. (JNY) soared 12 percent to $10.85 after rallying 14 percent earlier, the most intraday since July 27. Delta-Galil Industries Ltd. (DELT) said it’s in talks to buy the jeans operations of the New York-based apparel and footwear maker. Delta expects to pay $350 million to $400 million for the purchase, according to a statement filed today with the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
