Europe market closing price: Headline shares ended the day little changed, with the miners making progress on hopes of moves from the US and China to stimulate demand, but banks lower on concerns over the Eurozone.
At the close of business, the FTSE100 was up just 2.4 points at 5,776.6 with the FTSE250 off 27.81 points at 11,466.54 and the FTSE Smallcaps 1.93 points better at 3,116.79.
