Nvidia (NVDA +4.1%) rallies after the company discloses the ARM-based version of Microsoft Surface will run on a Tegra app processor (the specific Tegra chip remains a mystery). Google's upcoming Nexus tablet, which really has its work cut out for it now, is expected to use a Tegra 3 processor. Microsoft's (MSFT) decision to go with Nvidia is a minor disappointment for Qualcomm (QCOM), which announced a Windows 8 partnership with Microsoft at CES.
