Given Imaging Ltd. (GIVN) climbed 2.5 percent to $19.46. The maker of capsule-sized cameras for diagnosing digestive ailments said that Japan gave clearance for the use of its PillCam for patients with known or suspected small bowel disease.
Ista Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ISTA) surged 7.8 percent to $9.04. The developer of eye treatments agreed to be acquired by Bausch & Lomb Inc. (BOL US) for $500 million. The company also extended the patent for its Prolensa eye solution to September 2025.
Lennar Corp. (LEN) increased 3.3 percent to $27.27. The third-largest U.S. homebuilder by revenue reported first-quarter earnings excluding some items of 8 cents a share, beating the average analyst estimate of 5 cents.
Rent-A-Center Inc. (RCII) gained 4.8 percent to $39.09. The biggest U.S. rent-to-own retailer was raised to buy from hold at Stifel Nicolaus & Co., citing a “stabilizing core business” and the company’s RAC Acceptance kiosk concept
