Carmike Cinemas Inc. (CKEC) gained 24 percent to $11.31 after surging as much as 29 percent, the most intraday since March 2009. The fourth-largest U.S. theater chain posted fourth- quarter revenue that exceeded the average analyst projection, data compiled by Bloomberg show.
Coleman Cable Inc. (CCIX) dropped the most in the Russell 2000 Index, retreating 22 percent to $10.13.
Diamond Foods Inc. (DMND) rose 4.3 percent to $25.59 and climbed to $26.24 earlier, the highest intraday price since Feb. 8.
Ebix Inc. (EBIX) rose 6.4 percent to $24.15 and jumped 9.2 percent earlier, the most intraday since Dec. 15. The insurance software provider increased its quarterly dividend to 5 cents from 4 cents.
FactSet Research Systems Inc. (FDS) advanced 5.7 percent to $95.95 and climbed 7.3 percent earlier, the most intraday since Oct. 27. The Norwalk, Connecticut-based financial-data supplier reported second-quarter profit and sales that exceeded analysts’ estimates.
Great Wolf Resorts Inc. (WOLF) surged 21 percent to $5.08 and reached $5.19 earlier, the highest intraday price since September 2008. The operator of indoor water parks agreed to be bought by Apollo Global Management for $5 a share, or about $703 million.
