Varian Medical Systems Inc. (VAR) rose 1.1 percent to $67.88. The maker of radiation equipment used to treat cancer was raised to buy from above average at Caris & Co.
Velti Plc (VELT) increased 10 percent to $10.81. The mobile phone marketing company reported fourth-quarter revenue of $87.1 million, beating the average analyst estimate of $81.7 million.
