Brown & Brown Inc. (BRO) rose 3.9 percent to $24.25 and reached $24.58 earlier, the highest intraday price since July 15. The insurance and risk management provider reported fourth- quarter profit that beat analysts’ estimates. William Blair & Co. raised the stock’s rating to “outperform” from “market perform.”
Depomed Inc. (DEPO) gained 5.8 percent to $7.09 and climbed to $7.15 earlier, the highest intraday price since Aug. 2. The drugmaker said it will get “modest, single-digit royalties” on net product sales of Merck & Co.’s (MRK US) type 2 diabetes Janumet XR until the expiration of the licensed patents.
HCA Holdings Inc. (HCA) advanced 5.3 to $27.85 after jumping to $28.99, the highest intraday price since July 25. The largest hospital chain hospital company by revenue reported fourth-quarter profit surged because of an acquisition and said it will pay a one-time dividend of $2 a share.
