Unisys Corp. (UIS) climbed 23 percent $24.67 for the biggest advance in the Russell 2000. The Pennsylvania producer of mainframes and computer services reported third-quarter earnings excluding some items of $1.63, more than double the average analyst estimate, Bloomberg data show.
Quest Diagnostics Inc. (DGX) rose 12 percent, the most in the S&P 500, to $57.20. The biggest U.S. operator of medical laboratories raised the lower end of its profit forecast. Full- year earnings excluding one-time items will be $4.30 to $4.35 a share compared with a July forecast of $4.25 to $4.35 a share.
