Health Management Associates Inc. (HMA) gained 5.6 percent, the most in the Russell 1000 Index, to $7.58. The hospital operator was raised to “outperform” from “market perform” at Oppenheimer & Co. by equity analyst Michael Wiederhorn with a 12-month price estimate of $11 a share.
