Johnson & Johnson's (JNJ) Q1: Worldwide Consumer sales -2.4% Y/Y to $3.6B, hurt by negative currency impact of 2.9%. Worldwide pharmaceutical sales +1.2% to $6.1B, led by strong international sales of Remicade. Worldwide Medical Devices and Diagnostics sales -0.3% to $6.4B. Sees FY12 EPS of $5.07-$5.17, above prior guidance of $5.05-$5.15. Shares +0.5% premarket

Goldman Sachs (GS): Cost-cutting is the key, with operating expenses off 14% Y/Y to $6.77B, led by compensation expenses -16% to $4.38B. Investment banking revenue off 9% Y/Y to $1.15B. Net revenue in FICC off 20% Y/Y to $3.46B. Net revenue in Investment Management off 8% to $1.18B. Shares -2.2% premarket.

TD Ameritrade (AMTD): FQ2 EPS of $0.25 misses by $0.01. Revenue of $673M (-6.3% Y/Y) in-line.

State Street (STT): Q1 EPS of $0.84 misses by $0.03. Revenue of $2.42B (+3% Y/Y) beats by $80M

Stocks to Watch –Solar stocks, April 17, 2012

Crude oil prices have been surging recently, and there is little sign that the momentum will be slowing down. Every time crude oil reaches these types of elevated levels, it seems that interest in alternative forms of energy also rise. Solar is one type of alternative energy that gets particular attention, and should be on investors' radar going into 2012.  

First Solar (FSLR) announces a major restructuring in which it will cut 2,000 jobs - or 30% of its workforce, close a plant in Frankfurt, and indefinitely idle four production-lines in Kulim, Malaysia. First Solar expects savings of $100M-$120M a year, but will take charges of $245M-370M. Company also pays down $145M of debt.You can also check previous stocks to buy reports- Right Here

Cheniere Energy (LNG) +4.5% AH after regulators approve the company's plans to build a $10B Louisiana natural gas export terminal

Teekay (TK) says it's selling 13 of its 17 directly owned conventional tankers to its subsidiary Teekay Tankers (TNK) for $455M in an all stock-and-debt deal. The sale will allow Teekay to invest in new areas. TK +0.2%, TNK +2.2% AH.
