After Hours Earning News:
Novellus (NVLS +1.2%) drops slightly AH after using its mid-quarter update to reaffirm its FQ4 revenue guidance range of $260M-$290M and EPS of $0.42-$0.62. The company is, however, saying it now expects its Q/Q bookings growth to be in a range of 20%-30%, putting it at the high end of a prior range of 10%-30%.
JMP's Alex Gauna is maintaining a Market Perform on Intel (INTC), he thinks the performance advantages of its PC and server solutions relative to AMD's are "leading to advantageous share and pricing dynamics;" and that, in turn, could allow Intel to exceed his Q4 EPS estimate. Gauna also thinks the 2012 release of Intel's Ivy Bridge and Romley chips will lead to margin expansion.
Thoratec Corp. (THOR) are higher in after-hours trading after Oracle Investment Management sends a letter to Thoratec's Board of Directors urging them to retain an investment bank and begin looking for a suitable buyer. Shares +3.4% AH.
Clearwire (CLWR) drops 6.2% AH after announcing plans to issue $300M in Class A shares, to help finance its 4G network build.
NuStar Energy (NS) files to sell 5.25M common units. Credit Suisse, Barclays Capital, BofA Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo Securities are acting as joint book-running managers of the offering. Shares -5% AH
