Stocks to Watch –Solar stocks, September 28, 2012

Crude oil prices have been surging recently, and there is little sign that the momentum will be slowing down. Every time crude oil reaches these types of elevated levels, it seems that interest in alternative forms of energy also rise. Solar is one type of alternative energy that gets particular attention, and should be on investors' radar going into 2012. 
  

First Solar (FSLR) announced agreements to construct...First Solar (FSLR) announced agreements to construct four solar power plants totaling 20 megawatts AC of generating capacity for PNM Resources (PNM). First Solar will provide engineering, procurement and construction services. PNM has the option to expand the agreement to a total of 22 MWAC. The solar plants could be in service by the end of 2013, although the schedule is dependent on project approval by the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, whose decision is expected in Q4.
