Yahoo (YHOO) is up 2.3% following the latest rumors (I, II) of bids from PE firms. Central to Silver Lake's bid may be a plan to have Marc Andreessen - the co-founder of Netscape and freewheeling VC firm Andreessen Horowitz - play a key role. Andreessen has a lot of pull among Silicon Valley startups and engineers, but already has a lot on his hands, and is reportedly unsure of whether Yahoo can be turned around.
